The Financing Memorandum for the PROMOTE project ( Pro gramme to Mo tivate, T rain and E mploy Female Teachers in Rural Secondary Schools) was signed in January 1996 for an amount of 36 million Euro. Its main goal is to facilitate and accelerate a smooth transition to a more gender-sensitive and equitable society in rural Bangladesh by promoting girl-friendly secondary schools and high quality and gender sensitive teaching at secondary schools in rural areas. |
