  Scope of the Project :

The goal of the programme is pro-poor economic growth to increase income and employment for the poor (DFID CAP Priority Area 1). The programme supports the Bangladesh PRSP's ambitious targets on reducing poverty, in line with the MDGs, by generating employment through private sector growth. The purpose of the programme is to mobilise international financial resources for accelerated pro-poor growth in Bangladesh through targeting the geographically dispersed Bangladeshi diaspora, who are prosperous and prepared to invest in the homeland. International ethical, mutual, and philanthropic funds are a second source that can be tapped for investment. This programme addresses the viability and modalities of achieving such financing for pro-poor outcomes.

  Services Provided :

Main activities performed under this project was assistance in arranging meeting wit stakeholders and key policy makers to discuss the different aspects of international financing by the Bangladeshi Diaspora abroad.

It also included follow-up with the respondents and providing information on the Bangladeshi and other regional securities market.
